I started out young in his MA training with traditional Shotokan Karate in 1982. During my school years I also trained in Judo & Japanese (Traditional) Ju-Jitsu. Following in my University years I was exposed to a wider variety of Japanese and Chinese MA, such as Aikido, Wado-Ryu, 7 Star Praying Mantis and Lar Gar. Ialso competed in Free Style Karate Tournaments.

Upon my return to the island I carried on my Free Style training and then progressed into Western Kickboxing, this is where I met my friend and now current coach Chris Bishop,  they also went on to compete in their first Amateur Kickboxing tournament together. It was through this club that Joe also met Aniko.

The club’s premises unfortunately closed down due to it being converted into apartments, and I assisted Chris in finding new premises to train from and like a phoenix from the ashes a new club and training concept was established. Chris took the first brave steps in joining the CMD Trainers Program and developed the studio around the CMD and its philosophies, exposing me and the other clientèle to both its functionality, and its MA Life aspects. After Ani took the plunge and developed her performance and life coaching abilities, I decided to commence my journey of development in performance coaching. I've already proved its worth, drawing on my experiences in martial arts and life (both positive and negative) to provide a valuable addition to the coaching faculty at Performance Evolution. I have also been developing my game on the ground in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for almost 2 years, I wasChris’s first training partner and have so far earned 3 stripes from head coach Rodney King.

I currently use CMD for its wide range of life uses from Health & Fitness, to managing stress at the end of a working day. I am currently  developing my motivation, personal interaction/interpersonal skills which then transfer into a working and personal life.
