Rodney King Awarded BJJ Black Belt From Rigan Machado!
Written by Rodney King

rodney_bjj_bb.jpgWhat a 'Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu' year for Rodney. First been awarded a BJJ Black Belt, from Chris Haueter in early 2007 and then to be awarded a 2nd BJJ Black Belt by one of the worlds leading BJJ coaches Rigan Machado in November 2007. As Rodney noted, " I feel like I have come full circle". Rodney first meet Rigan Machado back in 1998 when he brought him to South Africa to conduct a BJJ seminar. It was at that seminar that Rigan awarded Rodney his Blue Belt. Ten years later and Rodney has now been awarded his Black Belt from the coach that inspired him  to continue his journey in BJJ.

Again on behalf of the entire CMD Team, congratulations Rodney....your hard work and dedication has paid off!

2nd Anual CMD-MA Life Singapore Retreat- Huge Success!
Written by Rodney King

sing_retreat_rigan.jpgWell, it is now nearly two months since the 2nd Annual CMD-MA Life Singapore Retreat, but my head is still buzzing with the quality of the material, as well as the positive energy everyone put into the sessions!  Though the true extent of an event such as this is huge beyond telling, I'll do my best to give you some of the highlights.

Everyday saw smiling faces all around the gym, as we got back-to-back sessions from Rodney King and Rigan Machado. Amongst the indepth topics covered were how to generate maximum power in strikes, attacking from side control, combination theory, BJJ performance drills, MMA, straight clinch, as well as a bonus session on greco-clinch fundamentals from Steve Boyd.  In every session, we got to explore the fundamentals of the material in a performance environment with an emphasis on the fun part - everybody finished the sessions tired (especially after the Yo-Monkey material) but hungry for more!

For those lucky enough to have got into the Gold Sessions, we were treated to even more of Rodney's great coaching.  These extra sessions not only gave us a chance to cover the game-booster that is the Fight Compass, but really gave us a chance to explore the underlying ideas and intentions behind the CMDP.  It was a great chance to get into the MA-Life philosophy and I'm sure everyone present is looking forward to developments in this program.

sing_retreat_rodney.jpgFinally, a huge thank you to everyone involved in the retreat!  One of the great aspects of CMDP events is that you know from the start that everyone is there with positive intentions to help each other get the most out of the experience.  It was truly encouraging to see how you can fly halfway around the world and still find the same high quality of people involved throughout the CMDP.  It was great to meet everyone and I hope everyone can make it again next year.

Roll on 2008 =)

Adam wins the 2007 Super Middle World Title in Lumpinee, Bangkok.

adamJust would like to give a big thanks to all the guys that believed in me. I fought for the world title again for Thai boxing for the 2007 belt in lumpinee, Bangkok, Thailand. It was a hard fight, it was a good fight. What was really cool was that CMD Trainer, Chris Bishop 'The Combat Wombat' was there to see. Hey Chris if you see this post, I would like to tell your wife and you thank you for attending the fight, it was an honor to have some one from the CMD group there, and thanks again for the advise your wife and you gave.

I would also like to say thanks to Rodney for the "Ninjas” in the tight hallway drill he showed me in Singapore, the” boomerang" as well-hitting behind the head, thank you! And of course for the Crazy Monkey Program, it keeps my head on my shoulders and it still helps me stay pretty and handsome during and after my training and fighting, thanks Rodney!

spec_ops_mediumAll I can say is WOW!!! Rodney just completed 2 days, of highly intensive, with more than 8hours mental training coaching with my Slovak Special Operations Military Operatives. Without going into to much details as most of what Rodney is classified, here is brief review. Our plan was to bring about a "mini" revolution in coaching mental game strategies for the battlefield to professional teams of police and military in my country-, which I have been coaching for couple of years now. I am glad report that Rodney exceeded once again all my expectations. Rodney created and delivered an awesome, extremely detailed flash presentations, which was specifically designed for my guys.
