I
went to an Arnis seminar last year where the instructor was a kickboxer
who practiced and learned from a famous kickboxer from the Jet center
in the US.I happened to spar him in boxing and he couldn''t penetrate
through my CM defense cause it''s so solid. He and his students
complement me with my ability to withstand many attacks and survived
without a scratch.

My CM Success Story: Hi everyone, I’m pretty sure that everyone
involved the C.M.D.P has a not just one success story but several
success stories. With my C.M. experience I have had a fair few success
stories, one of them being the training and winning my second world
title in Thailand for Thai boxing in Lumpini Stadium, Bangkok. The
advice and the tools, physical and emotional I had received from Coach
Mr. Rodney King and the support from the rest of the people in the
C.M.D.P. were to me. On of my proudest experiences though with my C.M.
training includes a story with my wife. Let me tell you a little
history about my wife’s experience with martial arts before deciding to
take up Thai boxing professionally. She only had close to three years
of BJJ training and that was it. She then decided to try her hand at
Thai boxing but with only the intention to get fitter and to try
something new; from there she wanted to compete in professional Thai
boxing matches in Thailand. You could only imagine how I had felt;
‘training’ in a combat sport and training to ‘compete’ in a combat
sport are a little different to each other especially when you are
doing the combat sport in its home territory, in its home crowd and
it’s your wife! So I immediately started coaching my wife in the C.M.
that I knew. The tools that I had learnt and also had learnt how to
coach those tools were and I’ll say it again, were ‘priceless’. To cut
a long story short, my wife using the C.M. tools that she integrated
into her Thai boxing game had helped her win three out three of her
Thai boxing matches. Thank you Mr. Rodney King and to the people
involved in the C.M.D.P.

I
came about the CMDP and CMD Trainer program after ''adopting'' a club
when my trainer had succumb to family commitments. After seeing how
efficient is was, I threw everything else in the bin, and once I found
out about they had a trainers programme I joined that as well as I
wanted to become an excellent trainer, not just an athlete in front of
a class.
Within the two years I have learnt more about myself than the rest of
my life put together. I have accepted my faults, and made them my
strengths. I know who I am, and what drives me, and so I deliver that
in my coaching.
Through this process I have now been surrounded by clientele with
similar goals, mentality and disposition. The Manx Monkeys are growing
in number, and people are staying for more than just martial arts.
This has transferred to my life and career, with me being happier with
myself (through accepting myself), more in love with my wife that ever
before (though becoming more emotionally intelligent), and my career as
a Nurse going from strength to strength, and for the first time in my
working life, I finally feel I have a ‘career’ (though gaining focus,
drive, and a ‘not making any more excuses’ attitude).
It has not been easy, but very worthwhile, and I think the journey is
only really getting started. Thank you to Rodney and to everyone in the
CMDP for your input, discussions, and challenges.
